Following with a Good Shot -- UBBT Update

There is a passage in the Book of Five Rings that talks about learning from other activities: "A man cannot understand the perfection and imperfection of his chosen art if he cannot see the value in other arts."  This passage came to mind as I was applying some golf sayings to my UBBT journey (even though I did not watch any of the Masters).  One of those is "always follow a bad shot with a good shot."  Essentially--if you mess up, because it will happen, do the next thing well.

This past couple of weeks have been about following bad shots with good shots. Our collective family sleep is getting back on track. Crunches and pushups are happening more consistently than the past couple of weeks, and reaching 100+ each day again  (I need to string a number of power days to get back on track--I'm sitting at about 26-27%--still, 14,000 pushups since December is more than I ever would have imagined.)

This week I am making some connections with my nutrition to help break through a weight plateau. I'm eating more protein in the morning, and cutting down on bready carbs for lunch (no more "make a sandwich for Michael, make one for me," because it's not my ideal fuel.)

As part of one of my organizing goals, I also had a professional organizer come to my work office one Friday afternoon.  This was very helpful to me, and will kickstart a work project to minimize a lot of clutter there--just in time for the end of the fiscal year, when things get really intense.

It's been an interesting process this far in to watch the ebbs and flows of energy and discipline.  It's also very nice to be in an upswing right now.
