Hello folks. Thanks Mr.Oliver for inviting me to your group.

My name is Derek Bennati. I've been training under Kyoshi Joslin for over 18 years now.

I hold a Go Dan (5th Degree Black Belt) under Kyoshi Joslin.

I owe a great debt of gratitude to my teachers for the knowledge they have imparted to me and the guidance they have given me over the years. Weather it was by their guidance or simply by them leading by example. It is our teachers that help make us into the people we are today.

I'm certain you all feel the same way about your teacher.

What does renshi mean sir?

The character "Ren" means "polished, tempered" and "shi" means "person"Can also mean (spirit, mind, or heart). Thus Renshi indicates a "polished instructor" or expert. Renshi may be awarded to the modern rank of 6th Dan or above.
