Sacramento Martial Arts and Karate
In order to fulfill the community service project requirement to test for my green belt, I teamed up with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation and organized a charity fundraiser concert at Luigi’s Fun Garden (1050 20th St Sacramento). The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring instrumental music education in America's public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education. Since its inception in 1997, the VH1 Save The Music Foundation has provided $48 million in new musical instruments to 1,800 public schools in more than 100 cities around the country, including several Sacramento area schools, impacting the lives of over 1.8 million children.
The event will kick off with performances by a couple of Sacramento’s finest upcoming, high-energy, young rock & roll bands - The Hungry and The Kelps. Marcus Cortez (formerly of Darling Sweetheart, Black Tar Caviar, and Strange Tongues) will be performing a soulful set with close friends from the local music community, and Mondo Deco will close out the evening with their raw, hip-shaking garage rock. The event aims to raise awareness of the movement to restore music education and raise $600+ for underfunded music education programs in public schools. All proceeds after administrative costs will be donated to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.
Concert – Friday September 28th 2012, 8pm-12am, $7
SEE YOU THERE!!!
