Man Eating Sugar. New York City Health Department.

You'd never eat 16 packs of sugar. Why would you drink 16 packs of sugar? There are 16 packs of sugar in one 20 oz. bottle of soda. All those extra calories can bring on obesity, diabetes and heart disease. Go with water, fat-free milk, seltzer or unsweetened tea instead.

It's great how the video ends with the gent smiling with an empty pack of sugar. A very lovely picture of unhealthful habits.

Chrissy, it's amazing how small changes we make to our diet affect us and our energy level, isn't it? Even just this past month, I've noticed my energy levels stay higher and that I am performing better just because of the diet changes I've made.

Haha. That is the best way to teach perspective that I've ever seen.

When I was in the Navy, I was forward deployed (living on a ship and underway for 10-11 months a year). Eating healthy was difficult. A lot of people with used to grab a candy bar and a soda for breakfast (easy to get and you didn't have to wait in line). One guy in particular used to complain daily about how sluggish he felt by 1030am. So I challenged him to an "Underway Duel." I made him a protein shake for breakfast every morning at 0600, then gave him some kind of light snack at around 0900. By the 4th day he said his energy level was better and at 2 weeks he had lost 3 pounds. He didn't even give up the soda entirely, all he changed was his breakfast routine.
