Sacramento Martial Arts and Karate

My name is Naomi this is the 3rd blog entry for my brown belt project.  I am collecting food at the farmers market for the Wellspring Center for Women and Children.  This week I interviewed a farmer.  The name of the farmer is Ruthanne and Alex is her helper.  The farm is called Shared Abundance and is located in Auburn.  I have attempted to post some photos of Ruthanne and the produce at her stand.  The farm started in 1997.  About 5 people work on the farm.  Ruthanne likes being a farmer because she likes being outside.  They grow many things on the farm.  In winter they grow kiwi & lettuce.  In spring they grow potatoes.  In summer they grow grapes, lettuce, plums, raspberries, blackberries, peaches, apricots, pears, tomatoes, squash, watermelon, eggplant & peppers. They grow flowers, herbs and kale year round. This week we collected stone fruit, peppers, corn, oranges, watermelon, squash, cucumbers & green beans.  I hope that the guests at Wellspring enjoy the food!
