I always try to follow Sensei Oliver with the camera as well as the students. I thought I would use this post to highlight a few moments of his night.
#1 - The teacher at work
#2 - Giving congratulations and encouragement
#3 - Answering questions
#4 - Leading the session
Sensei Oliver has an obvious ease in his dojo, his element. As the spouse of a teacher, I understand a little about what it takes to reach and lead students. I watch Sensei Oliver every week and see his great touch with the young kids. I wouldn't be surprised to find that he relates to the adult students just as well.
A great crowd of parents and friends packed the old classroom in the Coloma Center last Monday to see Sensei Oliver's students go through their paces as a group. The communal nature of the class and following ceremony made for a night of great anticipation and excitement. I believe Sensei Oliver had a good idea to combine the events.
