Hanshi Willie Adams is the head of our Isshinryu karate lineage. Here is a recent news broadcast of Hanshi Adams work with special needs students in Southfield MI. He donates his time, teaches for free, and wants to give back to the community and help those who others have given up on. Thank you for leading us by example Hanshi.

Its very interesting to me how much we underestimate people with "special needs." Working with children with a wide variety of special needs for a year now, I am still surprised by how different one child is from the next- even under the same diagnosis. Some kids are fully capable but lazy. Others are not capable and work as hard as they can. They're just like the rest of us with their own unique circumstances to overcome. Its great that Hanchi Adams is sharing the art the way he does.

Thanks for sharing this news Mr. Oliver. We didn't know anything about karate or the different lineages out there when Jack and Ella first started taking karate. I am so happy that we stumbled into such a great school (with an exciting history) that is actively modeling important values along with teaching the physical elements of karate. Thanks for being such a great role model for our kids!
