Yeah, that says 14%. That made me cry. Seriously, there were tears. Here's that doozie I was talking about: I've been averaging 3 katas a day, shooting for the 1000 target. Turns out I was supposed to be doing 3 of each kata a day. So while I was comfortably doing 3, I should have been doing 21... Every day... For the last 291 days. Yep... that's a gap of about 4,800 katas. So the tears were warranted, I think. At first it was pure panic and disappointment. I didn't see that being a gap that was possible to overcome. Then, I went home and did the math: 9 of each kata a day, 63 total, will put me where I need to be by December 31st. I don't know if it's possible to maintain that. I'm on the 5th day of it and, honestly, it's not fun. It's mentally exhausting. It's about 30 minutes of kata, 3 times a day. But... I have to try, right?!?! You don't run 24 miles of a marathon then go grab a bag of potato chips and call it a day. You crawl if you have to. So... away I crawl... If you ever see me at the dojo, just sitting, tell me to do a kata or 7 or 63! :) ARGH!The Training:
Well, apart from being my worst enemy, I have to say it's still going well. Mostly because it's still goingand I didn't (though I was very tempted) go grab that bag of potato chips. It's all about keeping my head in the game right now. Been making progress on sparring, need to do the same for kata.

The triathlon is around the corner, 2 weeks out. The coming week will decrease my overall mileage but have a longer ride, hopefully a swim and just keep up with the running.
Still not quite where I should be with my eating but am very fortunate to have friends who give me leftovers and such. Will get my fruit drawer stocked today, that will help.
The Challenges:
Ummm... 63 katas a day. 63!
Message of the Week:
Sensei says the most important requirement in this test is "no quitting."
