Water for the Homeless: Final Week of the Project

My name is Alex, and I am a student in the adult class. For my green belt project, for 4 weeks this summer I delivered water and reusable water bottles to Loaves and Fishes for the homeless. On this final week, I also made sandwiches and put together lunch bags. Then I passed out water and lunches to the homeless around Sacramento.

The hardest part of the project was having the courage to walk up to random people and give them water and a lunch.

The part of the project I liked best was seeing how happy people were after I gave the water and food to them.

During this project, I learned how difficult it is for homeless people during heat waves and summer weather. The average homeless person has to walk up to a mile and a half to get fresh water every day.

Thank you to those who brought in water and reusable bottles for me to donate to Loaves and Fishes. They can still use donations of water and reusable bottles delivered directly to them before 2PM Monday through Friday at 1321 N C St  Sacramento, CA 95811. Their phone number is (916) 446-0874.

For more information about donations they need, visit http://www.sacloaves.org/
