Sacramento Martial Arts and Karate
This week is the 4th week I have been doing my brown belt project which involves collecting fruit and vegetables for Wellspring Women & Children’s Center at the local farmer’s market. This week I interviewed a farmer at the market named Pamela from Saeturn Farms. The farm is located in Gridley, CA. Pamela has been working for her parents on the farm for about 17 years and the farm started in 1994. Pamela likes being a farmer because she likes being able to talk to the customers at the market. Many things are grown on Pamela’s farm. In spring and summer they grow strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, watermelon, squash, lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. This week we got stone fruits, tomatoes, green tomatoes, green peppers, squash, cucumbers, basil, blackberries and citrus. I hope Wellspring can use all the food we brought!
